I like to identify with specific objects and then give them meaning. Seems like people can always relate to objects. My brain is wired like that. Is yours?
My favorite object is a cairn (it’s even part of my logo). A cairn is a landmark built by stacking several stones on top of one another. Living in the desert, I see them often when hiking and drawn to their uniqueness. I like that no two cairns are alike. I like how they are created by human hands (oftentimes more than one human). I like that they can be used as landmarks to guide people. I appreciate that the stone on bottom is typically the largest, most sturdy, and acts as a strong base and foundation, all of which are very symbolic and essential for business achievement.
My object is built with 5 stones spelling out the word CAIRN. Each letter represents a descriptive word that is relevant for steadiness, growth, and success in my business. The bottom stone starts with the letter C and the top stone ends with the letter N.
N= Nurture: Take care of myself, so I have the mental, physical, and emotional bandwidth to care for my business.
R= Resilience: Be able to overcome obstacles that get in my way. Recover quickly.
I= Innovation: Be different. Stand out. Create 3 uniques that set my company apart from others.
A= Accountability: Be accountable for my actions. I am responsible for me.
C= Commitment: Show up every day and put energy into my business.
Identify with a specific object then develop an acronym or visual with descriptive words to reference how you will run your business. I encourage you to identify your object and determine what it symbolizes for you and your business. Then, operate your business based on this object and meaningful words.
